Pop Culture Roundup May 17, 2006

"Veronica Mars" has been renewed for another season, appearing on the merged WB! and UPN networks, which will be operating as CW. A full 22 episodes were order, which may be reduced to 13 if ratings aren't good, reports Ain't it Cool. Best show on TV. You should check out the DVDs if you haven't watched it.

More on the CW schedule from the Hollywood Reporter:

Also moving to the new network are UPN comedies "Girlfriends," "Everybody Hates Chris" and "All of Us," and WB dramas "Smallville," "Supernatural" and "Gilmore Girls," with veteran "7th Heaven" expected to join the group pending the completion of new deals with the cast.

Paul McCartney and wife Heather Mills are splitting up.

The next "Chronicles of Narnia" film, "Prince Caspian," has been pushed back to a 2008 release.

An interesting note about the royalties paid to DC Comics creators and how they play a role in what does, and doesn't, end up getting reprinted in the publishers' Archives and Showcase collections.
