CD: I Dig Everything collects Bowie's early singles

Slated for Jan. 16 release, this compilation collects David Bowie's singles for the Pye label. Details:

For Bowie fanatics and archivists, I DIG EVERYTHING provides a revealing glimpse into this stylistic chameleon's beginnings. This collection brings together the first three singles Bowie recorded for the Pye label in 1966 before recording his first album on Decca the following year. The package is impressive; a handsome booklet full of info and pictures, and each single housed in a separate picture sleeve. The songs themselves are a million miles from both Bowie's first hit, the spacy 1969 folk-rocker "Space Oddity" and those from his self-titled Donovan-meets-Anthony Newley debut album. The six tunes contained here are a mixture of American R&B-influenced mod soul and swinging-London pop. Motown-like beats abound in arrangements that suggest the Young Rascals' alternate life in the UK.

Tunes include:

1. I'm Not Losing Sleep
2. I Dig Everything
3. Can't Help Thinking About Me
4. Do Anything You Say
5. Good Morning Girl
6. And I Say to Myself
