Earle Hagen, composer and whistler of "The Andy Griffith Show" theme, has passed away.

Hagen also co-wrote the classic "Harlem Nocturne" along with theme songs for "The Dick Van Dyke Show," "That Girl," "Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C.," "The Mod Squad" and "I Spy."

Talented man! I bet his tunes are more hummed and whistled than most Top 10 pop songs.

Sex Pistol John Lydon says he'd like to write songs for Britney Spears.

"I haven’t written a song for Britney yet but I would love to," Lydon told The Sun.

"I’d like to help out because there’s a girl who needs some help. She’s been hurt. And hurt is the root core essence of good music."

Via The Horrors of It All, some fans have started a blog named after Mystery Tales #40, the Atlas comic featured in a recent episode of "Lost." Apparently, a story titled "The Hidden Land" in the comic has some similarities to the show's plot lines.
