Pop Focus: Hammer Films' Dracula

Britain's prolific Hammer Films studio made dozens of now-cult horror flicks from the late 1950s to the late 1970s, and perhaps none were as popular or memorable as those featuring Bram Stoker's classic character, Dracula.

Hammer made a total of nine Dracula films, nearly all of them starring Christopher Lee as the bloodthirsty Count and Peter Cushing as his arch-enemy, Van Helsing.

The films grew increasingly more lurid as the series went on, and had less and less to do with Stoker's original conception character. Lee worrying (too late) about being typecast, quit before the last film, "The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires," which was a shameless attempt to capitalize on the mid-1970s kung fu craze.

Here are pics, posters and trailer from the entire series.
