Top 5 Reissue Record Labels: Ace Records and associated imprints

Winding up our survey of great reissue record labels, we take a look at the UK's Ace Records.

This outfit is a bit like a Brit version of Rhino Records, specializing in compilations of vintage rock, pop and soul. It also produces more specialized releases under its Kent (soul), Beat Goes Public (jazz, funk) and Big Beat (1960s pop) imprints.

Highlights from the Ace catalog include the long-running Golden Age of American Rock 'N' Roll compilation series, the Early Girls collections of girl group pop, its profile compilations of great rock/pop songwriters (Lieber and Stoller, Goffin and King, etc.), and the Radio Gold series of radio-oriented golden oldies.

Lovers of all musical genres will find lots to love in the label's super-deep catalog.
